Child Rights educational resource

The Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) created an educational video resource that covers the meaning, history and significance of child rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The video was released on 20 November 2018 to coincide with the United Nations World Children’s Day.

The educational resource gives a comprehensive overview of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, its history and background and the four overarching Articles that apply across all other rights in the Convention:

  • Article 2: non-discrimination
  • Article: 3 best interests
  • Article 6: survival and development
  • Article 12: participation
